Summary

We are looking to hire a part-time team member to help with the growing demand for e-learning and technical skilling. You will be working directly with our founder and gain valuable experience in delivering world-class training experience to our students. As a Training Assistant, you will provide direct support to our participants before, during, and after the training event.

This role is ideal for professionals wanting to enter the geospatial domain after a career break, late-stage PhD students, or fresh graduates wanting to build their technical skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Assist in research, preparation and testing of course materials.
• Handle communication and course requirements to and from the participants and/or clients.
• Assist in course delivery and troubleshooting during the course.
• Provide technical support to course participants.

Qualifications and Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication: You will communicate regularly with our course participants from all over the world. Your ability to understand installation issues and errors, and to explain debugging steps clearly is critical for this role.

• Experience with Python programming: Most of our courses are based on Python, so programming experience is mandatory. You don’t need to be an expert - but must demonstrate that you have done hands-on work.

• Familiarity in Git: All our internal tooling (course materials, website and documentation) is on GitHub, and your daily tasks will involve sending pull requests and creating Git repositories. Basic knowledge of Git will help you ramp up much faster in the role.

• Familiarity with QGIS: Being a QGIS.org certified training provider - many of our offerings are built around QGIS. You must have a good background using QGIS for spatial analysis.

Working hours

We expect a total of 20 working hours/week. The work schedule is flexible, but the role requires the candidate to be available during our scheduled classes, which typically happen between 3 PM and 9 PM IST. There is no weekend work requirement.

Salary Range

The salary range for this part-time position is INR ₹25,000-₹35,000/month.

To assess your communication skills, we require you to record a short video explaining a technical concept. Pick any concept from our open learning materials and explain that concept in your own style in a short video (maximum 5 minutes). Upload it to YouTube or Google Drive as an unlisted video and share the link. A video with your camera-on will be preferred, but you may keep it off if you prefer. But the voice needs to be your own. We will not accept any video with AI voiceover.
